Whether you are new to watercolor or are a more seasoned artist looking to "loosen up", imbuing more expression into your work, this class gives the detailed instruction to reach your creative and technical goals. Students learn color theory, must-know techniques such as glazing wet-into-wet, how to create values and depth with transparencies and strengthening sight drawing to paint without pencil first. The impact of differences in paint brands and colors, brushes and papers will also be explained through chemistry principles made easy, showing you how to never have a "muddy painting" and have fresh, spontaneous results. The first half of the class is structured with tailored exercises, while the second half concentrates on individual students' creative goals in their respective paintings. Much individual attention is given to strengthen students' technique and personal style. The class culminates in creating an inspired effect in the medium.
