Ever wonder how to ”make it” as an artist?

Join us for this lecture series with seven New York City based artists who are “makin’ it” and are very art at work. Each artist will tell you their story, introduce you to their work, and share their secrets to success!
In this installment in the series:

11/18- Curator Marina Press and Elena Kanagy-Loux - In 2015, this FIT graduate and textile artist won the George T. Dorsch Art Historical Award, enabling her to go on a four-month trip across Europe to study the historical art of lacemaking. Now she is back in NYC, working on a book on her experiences and preparing workshops and lectures about bobbin lacemaking. She is co-founder of the Brooklyn Lace Guild.

Marina Press will speak at the conclusion of this lecture.
‘Art at Work’ is curated by New York- based art historian Marina Press. While she was the Associate Director of Bernarducci Meisel Gallery she became involved with the community of the Art League of Long Island. In 2016, she was the Juror of the exhibition 'Art in Motion'. She continues to contribute to the community by presenting this lecture series!
