Instructor:
To Be Announced
SKU: 173-FASH
Price: $1,220.00

Designed for High School students, and taught by industry professionals, this program serves as an introduction to the Fashion Design industry, while developing individual skills through hands-on studio experiences such as: Intro to Fashion Design and Fashion Illustration: Study terminology and practices, concept and theme design, while acquiring basic skills in collection development. Learn how to Illustrate both realistic and stylized fashion figures by hand: including proper proportion, anatomical characteristics and factors, elongation, enhanced fashion poses, and garment illustration: fabric/texture/pattern rendering using various art media; and Introduction to Garment Sewing: Grasp the foundations of sewing for garment construction. Learn hand sewing essentials, machine basics, pattern selection and construction, fabric types, and much more. Complete the garment from start to finish beginning with pattern tracing and working all the way through to the final stitch and press. Students will also work on accessories to personalize their handmade or ready to wear garments, utilizing hand-sewing techniques. Final creations will be presented in a mini-fashion show!

This is an intensive pre-college studio experience which allows students to delve deep into their studies, while staying close to home and still having time to enjoy their summer!

Participating students will have the opportunity to showcase their work as part of the Design Your Summer exhibition in our Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery, Aug. 12- 20, 2017.
