Designed for High School students and led by a practicing Architect, this program serves as an introduction to the field of Architectural Design, while also developing individual hand skills through drafting, model building, and complemented by additional hands-on studio experiences such as: Observational ""3D"" Drawing: Learn how to render objects /figures in space; creating the illusion of 3-Dimensions on 2-Dimensional surfaces. Emphasis on understanding design principles such as scale/proportion, as well as utilizing perspective; and 3-D Design: Sculpture: The function of space, volume, mass, and form, as well as design principles such as symmetry and balance, are some of what you will investigate through the solution of 3-dimensional design problems. The Architecture program runs Mon- Thurs for 3 weeks, July 10 - 27, 2017.

This is an intensive pre-college studio experience which allows students to delve deep into their studies, while staying close to home and still having time to enjoy their summer!

Participating students will have the opportunity to showcase their work as part of the Design Your Summer exhibition in our Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery, Aug. 12- 20 2017.

Space is limited so register early!
