This seminar offers an opportunity for artists to explore ideas and elements of painting in a synergistic setting through discussions, presentations, and critiques of works in progress. Personal growth will be facilitated by developing and clarifying artistic vision, and evolving creative practices shared among a community of peers.

Each class begins with a presentation and discussion period followed by critiques. Artists may bring up to 2 recent paintings per class for their critique. Participate in discussions about the elements of art and contemporary artistic practices. Acquire a more advanced understanding of the kinds of processes involved in painting through demonstration and discussion. Artists will explore and discuss what it means to be an artist today and how their art relates to contemporary art as well as art in an historical context.

Group is facilitated by Stan Brodsky devotees, Peter Galasso, Laura Powers-Swiggett, and Susan Rostan
