No question-nothing improves one's drawing skills like working from the human figure. Everything one could draw is contained in the myriad of shape and form in the human body. If you can draw the figure you can draw anything. It is simply the best time spent improving your skills.

Drawing is the key to all visual art-painting, sculpture, even photography. We shall start with quick gestural poses and concentrate on one substantial long pose. Using line, light and shade, form, measuring and some simple artistic anatomy- all the tools in the toolbox.

Supply List:
A newsprint pad is good for the quick sketches.

If working in charcoal 18x24 Strathmore 500 65 lb. (best) - Generals charcoal pencil medium, vine charcoal, kneaded eraser and sandpaper stick.

If working in pencil-18x24 80lb drawing pad with medium 'tooth' (Strathmore 400 best)
- Pencils- 6H,4H,2H,HB,2B ,4B,6B, 8B-pencil sharpener
