Art Nouveau (1890-1910) is an international art movement most known for art, architecture, applied and decorative arts. The movement also had a wide variety of graphic designers applying the Art Nouveau style to advertising posters, book covers and magazines. Discover Art Nouveau’s contribution to graphic design through its type design, illustration style and design elements (color, organic line, motifs, etc.). Specific poster artists will be explored as well as a brief overview of the movement as a whole. Students will get the opportunity to create their own works of art/design inspired by the movement.
