Learn the basics of how to use the potter’s wheel as a tool to make functional pots. Main focus of this class will be centering on the wheel, tips on making even walled cylinders and how to recreate same forms with relative ease. Extra time will be devoted principles of tableware where form meets function. Learn the use of colored slips and combination of glazes to make unique surfaces to complement the form.

Notes - Permanent: 
Classes meet with an enrollment limited to 12 participants or less. All students enrolled in wheel throwing classes are guaranteed access to a wheel during class time. Clay must be purchased from ALLI at the time of enrollment at the cost of $35 that includes all firings and glazes. Students are ONLY limited to creating clay works based on the size of the kiln and their vision. Weekly scheduled Open Studio hours are available for free to registered Ceramics students. Additional clay and tools can be purchased at the Art league as needed. Completed work MUST be picked up at the end of each session. Pieces left behind in the studio will be considered abandoned and removed one week before the start of next session. The Art League is not responsible for work left behind after that date.
